The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has announced that James Ayer has been named the Performer of the Week for the week ending March 3, 2013.

Ayer, a junior, won four of his six matches at the Hope/Kalamazoo Shootout, going 2-1 in both singles and doubles. He earned singles wins over Case Western Reserve's Louis Stuerke (1-6, 6-3, 1-0 [7]) at No. 5 and Earlham's Jack Ventura-Cress (3-6, 6-4, 1-0 [8]) at No. 4, then teamed with Nick Mozena for wins at No. 2 doubles over Stuerke and Ben McClarren of Case Western Reserve (8-5) and Alan Faber and David DeSimone of Kalamazoo (8-3).
