The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that swimmer Jason Orvis has been named IIAC Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.

Orvis, a sophomore, competed in seven events, winning three, while leading Luther to a runner-up finish at the Liberal Arts Championships. He won the 100 backstroke (52.73) and 200 backstroke (1:55.75) and also swam on Luther's winning 200 free relay (1:26.02). Orvis also took second in the 400 medley relay (3:30.94) and was third in the 50 freestyle (21.62), 400 freestyle relay (3:10.93) and 800 freestyle relay (7:04.79).
