The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced that Jason Orvis has been named the IIAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012.

Orvis, a freshman, finished fifth or better in three events at the St. Thomas Invitational. He took fourth in the 200 backstroke (2:03.71), fifth in the 100 backstroke (55.81) and swam the backstroke leg of Luther's fourth-place 400 medley relay (3:41.61). The Norse finished third of six teams at the invitational.
