James saw the whole thing coming. The Houston, Texas native came to Luther for “academic quality along with the up and coming of the soccer program.”
In 2011 he led the Norse in scoring with 21 points and was named a NSCAA second team All-American. Luther also captured its seventh Iowa conference championship, and advanced to the round of 16 of the NCAA III National Tournament.
James is a two-time academic all-conference honoree maintaining a 3.61 GPA.
James quickly places championship talk aside and highlights his team’s work with Habitat For Humanity as his most rewarding experience here. “During the pre-season the whole team put in an afternoon to help put up a house for a local family. It was great to help the community but also see the whole team contribute and work together to get all we could get done.”
If the midfielder could make one more prediction come true it would be to continue on to be a teacher/coach following graduation.
