Luther's two-match win streak came to an end this evening as UW-Platteville defeated the Norse 2-1.
After a scoreless first half, Platteville scored in the 64th minute and then again in the 77th minute on a penalty kick. J W Slauson (2) pulled the Norse to within a goal on a header off a pass from Myles Norville (1) at 83:57.
The Norse out shot the Pioneers 14-7 and also had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks. Pioneer keeper Ian Christensen turned away five Norse shots on goal.
The loss gives Luther an overall record of 4-2-0. Platteville improved to 2-2-3.
Luther will travel to University of St. Thomas on Sunday, Sept. 22. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
