Luther improved to 2-0-1 after defeating #14 St. Olaf College 2-0 this evening in Decorah. The loss was the first for the Oles who are now 2-1.
The Norse took an early 1-0 lead when Saul Rosales scored on a penalty kick at 1:38. Jon Gednalske scored an insurance goal on a header in front of the net at 55:36 assisted by Rosales.
Goalkeeper Peter Wright posted his first shut out of the season recording 10 saves.
Statistically St. Olaf out shot Luther 25-15 and also held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Luther returns to action on Friday, Sept 7 when it will host Nebraska Wesleyan University at 7:00 p.m. This match will be video streamed.
