The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has announced that Luther sophomore forward Ben Keller has been named the league's Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 22. This is the second time this season Keller has been so honored.
This past week, Keller scored three goals, increasing his season total to a team best nine. During Luther's 5-1 road victory over Coe College, Keller scored back-to-back goals in the 27th and 56th minutes that gave the Norse a 3-1 advantage. His first goal was the game winner.
This past Saturday, Keller scored on a header off an assist from Rafael Broseghini in the 76th minute, that leveled the score at 2-2. Two minutes later, Luther secured the win on a penalty kick. The victory also clinched at least a share of the regular season Iowa Conference championship.
The Norse wrap up the regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at University of Dubuque. A win or a tie will give the outright title to the Norse and the No. 1 seed for the six-team Iowa Conference Tournament.
