The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has announced that five Norse have been recognized on the 2012 All-Iowa Conference team.
For the second time is an many years, James Garcia-Prats was a first team honoree. Garcia-Prats, a junior midfielder, was credited with three goals and three assists for a total of nine points.
Second team honors were presented to senior defender Austin Walther, senior midfielder Saul Rosales and junior forward Brock Arend.
Walther, a first team honoree last season, started 15 matches for the Norse and was credited with one goal. He also helped the Norse defensive unit produce a goals-against-average of 0.85 that included nine shutouts.
Rosales had his best season in a Norse uniform. He started all 18 matches and led the team in scoring. He drove in a team best eight goals and dished out four assists for 20 points.
Arend, a first team honoree a year ago, finished third on the team in scoring. Arend tallied five goals and one assist for 11 points. He also finished tied for the team lead with Jon Gednalske with two game winning goals.
Gednalske, a freshman forward, was named honorable mention. Gednalske finished second on the team in total points with 13. He scored five goals and dished out three assists.
Complete All-Iowa Conference team
Luther wrapped up the season with an overall record of 10-6-2, 4-3 in the Iowa Conference.
