  • 2002 graduate of Trinity University
  • Fifth year as head coach.
  • 2011 NSCAA North Region Coach of the Year.
  • During the 2011 campaign, he led the Norse to their first conference title since 2002 and a sixth appearance in the NCAA III National Tournament.
  • Prior to Luther, he served as the assistant men's soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at Trinity University. During this stretch Trinity University made six NCAA Tournament appearances and three semifinal appearances, winning the national championship in 2003, and finishing second in 2007.
  • He also served has a head coach for the Classics Elite Soccer Academy in San Antonio and an Olympic Development Program state coach for the South Texas Region since 2004.
  • During his playing days, he started 86 of 87 games serving as a two-year captain.
  • Four-time Southern Collegiate Athletic all-conference honoree. Also was an NSCAA All-Region selection in 2000.
  • Played on two SCAC Championship teams and two NCAA National Tournament teams.
  • During his four-year career, Trinity University posted a record of 74-10-2.

Assistant Coach

  • Fourth year as assistant coach.
  • 2009 graduate of Luther College.
  • Also serves as head coach of the Decorah High School Boys Soccer Team.
  • 2008 second-team all-Iowa Conference selection at defender.
  • Named 2008 Most Valuable Defender and team MVP.
  • Started 70 of 73 career matches for the Norse.
  • Liverpool supporter.
 

Tony EnglandTony Englund

Goal Keeper Coach

  • Will coach the men's and women's goal keepers
  • Served as the Assistant Director of Coaching at St. Croix Soccer Club.
  • Coached goal keepers for over 20 years
  • Coached multiple club teams who earned state and regional recognition
  • Holds more than a dozen NSCAA diplomas, including the Director of Coaching, Premier and Goalkeeping Level III awards
  • Also serves as an Associate Staff Coach for the NSCAA

Strength and Conditioning Coach

  • Fifth year as strength and conditioning coach
  • 2003 Masters Degree in Exercise Science - Appalachian State University
  • 2001 B.S. Exercise Science and Health Promotion - Colorado State University
  • While at Appalachian State University he served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2003 and 2005
  • Also served as a strength and conditioning coach for the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation for developmental athletes in Lake Placid, N.Y.
