The 2014 Capital One Division III Academic All-District® Men’s At-Large Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), has been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One became the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA’s Academic All-America teams programs in 2011.
Andrew Peter, a 2010 graduate of Decorah High School, has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 8 First-Team.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
Peter, a 2013 Division III Third Team Ping All-American, posted a stroke average of 74.2 this season while playing 22 rounds for the Norse. He earned all-conference honors for a second time this season placing tenth at the Iowa Conference Tournament. Last year, he was the tournament medalist and was named league MVP. Twice he has been named Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Division III Ping All-Central Region. Earlier this week he was also named a Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar.
Peter is an Political Science major who has accumulated a grade point average of 3.97. He is the son of Tim and Sandra Peter.
