Joel Bruns, Tobias Kohl and Andrew Peter Named Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars

The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) has announced that Luther College seniors Joel Bruns, Tobias Kohl and Andrew Peter have been named 2014 Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars. A total of 32 student-athletes earned this award.

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically and competed in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participated in 70-percent of his teams competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA championship, have a stroke average of 79.0 or lower in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Eight-time Iowa Conference Coach of the Year Scott Fjelstul coaches the Norse. During his 27-year career he has coached 18 golfers who have earned 27 Scholar All-America Honors.

Bruns, a 2010 graduate of Albany High School, is the son of Dwaine and Jeanne Bruns of Avon, Minn.  Kohl is the son of Peter and Ingrid Kohl of Muenster, Germany and is a 2009 graduate of Edith-Stein-Schule High School. Peter is a 2010 graduate of Decorah High School and the son of Tim and Sandra Peter.
