Andrew Peter Named PING All-American

The Golf Coaches Association of America has announced the Luther's Andrew Peter has been named a 2013 PING Third Team All-American. Peter becomes the third golfer in Luther history to be named first, second or third team All-American in school history. He joins Kent Wagoner (1982) who was a second-team honoree and Ben Hanson (2007) who was a third-team selection. Gary Alhouse (1975), Wagoner (1980), Jeff Berthiaume (1996), and Magnus Hellmark (1996, 1997 & 1998) were all honorable mention All-Americans.

Peter, a 2010 graduate of Decorah High School, was Luther’s No. 1 player during the 2012-13 campaign. He played 19 rounds for the Norse posting a stroke average of 74.0

Earlier this year he was named the Iowa Conference MVP as was also named GCAA PING All-Central Region. Peter won the individual title of the 72-hole IIAC Championship with a 293, shooting a final round of 4-under par 68 at Finkbine Golf Course, Iowa City, Iowa.
