Mike DurninMike Durnin

  • Fifth Year as Head Coach in 2012.

  • During his tenure at La Crosse the Eagles played in the NCAA III Playoffs four times.
  • Member of American Football Coaches Association Public Relations Committee.

  • Liaison to the Iowa Conference head football coaches.
  • Selected as United States coach for inaugural European Recruiting Combine sponsored by the National Football Academy and European Federation of American Football.

Assistant Head Coach - Offensive Line

  • First Year as Assistant Head Coach - Offensive Line Coach.
  • Joins Norse with 13 years experience at both the collegiate and high school levels most recently at La Follette High School in Madison, Wis.
  • Assistant Coach - Offensive Line Coach at Loras College from 2005-2011.
  • 2000 graduate of Carthage College.
  • 2011 master's degree from Loras College.
  • Wife Magda.
  • Hometown: Chicago, Ill.

  • Coaches the linebackers.
  • 1988 graduate of Luther College.
  • Assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Oregon State University from 1991-96.
  • Graduate Assistant coach at the University of Nevada–Las Vegas 1990.
  • Graduate assistant at Northern Illinois in 1989.
  • Two-time all-conference offensive lineman for the Norse.
  • Inducted into Luther Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998.
  • Wife Chivonne - daughter Carley and son Jake.
  • Hometown: Lone Rock, Iowa

Roger JaegerRoger Jaeger

Defensive Line

  • Begins his 31st year as a member of the Norse coaching staff.
  • 1971 captain for the Wisconsin Badgers football squad.
  • Played for the Badgers on the offensive line from 1967-70.
  • Signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 1971.
  • Prior to joining Luther staff, he coached at University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and Waldorf College.
  • Also serves as Athletic Event Cordinator, Ropes and Challenge Course Director, and director of recreational sports.
  • Earned masters degree at UW-La Crosse.
  • Wife Vicky - sons Justin, John, and Jerry (all Luther graduates).
  • Hometown: Ashippun, Wis.

Dick WuestDick Wuest

Running Backs

  • Begins his 18th season with the Norse.
  • 1956 graduate of Luther College.
  • Served 32 years as head coach of Decorah High School, with a record of 182-80.
  • Led Decorah to 13 Northeast Iowa Conference titles, qualified for the state playoffs 10 times (including six straight from 1986-91), and won four state championships (including three straight from 1987-89).
  • Inducted into Luther Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988.
  • Wife Glendalu of 49 years - four children and five grandchildren
  • Hometown: La Crosse, Wis.

Brian EayrsBrian Eayrs

Offensive Coordinator

  • Second year as offensive coordinator in 2012.
  • Begins fifth year with the Norse coaching staff.
  • Graduate of Augsburg College where he played quarterback.
  • Prior to joining the Norse program, he served two years with the Minnesota Vikings in the personnel department.
  • In 2005 he was a graduate assistant for Coach Durnin at UW-La Crosse.
  • Spent 2003 and 2004 coaching at Minnesota powerhouse Eden Prairie High school.
  • His father Mike, who served as an assistant coach for Luther in 1984, is the Director of Research and Development for the Green Bay Packers.
  • Hometown: Chaska, Minn.

  • Also an assistant track and field coach at Luther.
  • 2008 graduate of Luther.
  • Four year starter at defensive back for the Norse.
  • Member of the 2007 Indoor All-American 4 x 400 relay.

Receivers

  • Second season as receivers coach.
  • 2006 graduate of the Wartburg College.
  • Prior to joining the Norse staff, he worked for the Minnesota Vikings in the ticket office.
  • 2007-09 graduate assistant at St. Cloud State University.
  • Coached the recievers at Wartburg during the 2006 season.
  • Engaged to Danielle Kohut, the head volleyball coach at Luther College.
  • Hometown: Johnston, Iowa
