  • 1997 graduate of St. John's University - B.A.
  • 1999 graduate of University of Iowa - M.S. Exercise Physiology
  • Eighth year as Head Coach
  • Named Iowa Conference Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010
  • Has led the Norse to five Iowa Conference Championships in 2006, 2007 2008, 2009 and 2010
  • Has also led the Norse to the NCAA III National Championships placing 6th in 2006, 8th in 2007 and 26th in 2010
  • Also serves as assistant track and field coach coaching the distant runners
  • Prior to taking over the Norse programs Steve spent two years as an assistant at Williams College (MA), where the women's team won the national championship in 2004 and the men's team finished in the top-10 in 2003 and 2004
  • From 2000-2002 he was the Head Men's Coach of cross country at Macalester College (MN)
  • While at St. John's University (MN) he earned all-conference honors in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs

  • First year as an assistant coach
  • Member of four Iowa Conference championship teams
  • One of only 11 cross country runners in Luther history to earn all-conference honors four times
  • Ran on Luther's 2007 and 2010 National Championships qualifying teams
  • 2010 All-Central Region performer
  • Three-time academic all-conference honoree
  • All-conference performer in the 10,000 meters outdoors
