The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that four Luther College cross country student-athletes have been named 2016 All-Scholar Athletes.
In total, there were 290 men who earned All-Academic mention from the USTFCCCA in Division III. In order to be named USTFCCA All-Academic, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) and finish in the top-25 percent at their respective regional.
Named to the All-Scholar Athlete list were seniors Parker Beard, Isaac Jensen and Trever Schwichtenberg, and junior Patrick Finnegan.
There were 207 competitors at the Central Regional hosted by Carleton College (MN). Jensen and Beard earned All-Regional honors by placing in the top-35. Jensen finished second overall and Beard finished 34th.
Thanks to his second place finish, Jensen qualified as an individual for the NCAA III National Championships were he earned All-America honors placing 10th.
