The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Has Announced That Tyler Wedemeier Has Been Named the Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.

Wedemeier, a senior center, averaged 16.5 points, 14.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks while leading the Norse to two victories last week and a share of the program's second Iowa Conference title in three years. He scored 21 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and had six blocks in a 60-54 win over Coe on Feb. 13, then closed out the regular season with a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double in a 78-61 win over Wartburg on Feb. 16. Wedemeier enters the IIAC tournament with double-doubles in five consecutive games.
