The Iowa Conference has announced that Tyler Wedemeier was named the Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 27.

Wedemeier, a senior center, averaged 16.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks as the Norse went 2-1 during the week to stay atop the Iowa Conference standings. He scored 15 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked four shots in a 76-73 overtime loss at Dubuque on Jan. 21, scoring his 1,000th career point during the contest. In a 75-61 win over Wartburg Jan. 23, Wedemeier tallied 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting and had six rebounds. He closed the week with a 16-point, 15-rebound double-double with three blocks as the Norse stopped Dubuque 60-55 Jan. 26 to avenge their lone league loss.
