The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has announced that Tyler Wedemeier has been named IIAC Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.

Wedemeier, a senior center, averaged 19.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while helping lead Luther to a 2-0 start to its 2012-2013 season. He had a 23-point, 11-rebound double-double on 9-of-14 shooting with two assists, a block and a steal in a 83-75 season-opening Norse win at Dominican (Ill.) on Nov. 16. The 23 points are a career-high. He added 15 points, five boards and another block in a 69-51 win over Concordia Chicago on Nov. 17.
