Alex says his favorite athlete of all time is David Eckstein. This is probably the least flashy answer possible, but Alex has his reasons. “Every time he took the field he gave everything he had. He always hustled and showed respect to the game no matter what the situation.”

Alex and David Eckstein have something in common; both were members of the National Honor Society while in high school. Also while in high school, Byom was a team captain and an all-conference player on a team that won a Division II regional championship in Wisconsin.

Alex has been a key performer on the Norse pitching staff the past two seasons and was voted captain. The health and physical education major hopes to land a career in occupational therapy after graduation.
