Loras won the first two games of this four-game series 8-5 and 6-4 this afternoon in Decorah.
In game one, the Duhawks scored three in the first and four in the fourth and one in the seventh en route to the victory.
Austen Graham and Zach Hendrikson both had two hits for the Norse. Graham, David Lowe, Peter Sandstedt, Thomas Weber and Daniel Schoess were all credited with an RBI.
Danny Smith (1-4) allowed seven runs on seven hits in four full innings of work. Andrew Withers and Noah Nelson-Gross pitched the final three innings and did not allow a hit.
In game two, Loras never trailed as they scored three in the first, added two in the fifth and one in the eighth, to secure the twin bill sweep.
Luther leveled the score 3-3 after three, after scoring twice in the second and once in the third. The Norse also pulled to within a run in the seventh when Brian Paulsrud drove in Aldon Severson on a single to left field, his second RBI of the game.
Andy Briggs, Hendrickson, Weber and Mitch Knippenberg all tallied multiple hits.
Alec Knop (1-5) allowed five runs on 10 hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out four.
Luther is now 7-13 in the Iowa Conference, 11-17 overall. Loras improved to 9-9 in the IIAC, 16-13 overall.
The two teams will finish the four-game series tomorrow with the first pitch of the double header scheduled to be thrown at 1:00 p.m.
