Four Norse Named to All-Conference Baseball Team

The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has released the 2013 all-conference baseball team. Luther was represented with one first-team and three second-team honorees.

Named to the first-team was junior short stop Eric Pittman, while senior pitcher Alex Byom, senior outfielder Andy Briggs and freshman catcher Mitch Knippenberg were second team selections. This is the first time all four players have been named all-conference.

Pittman batted .336 with 13 RBI and defensively was credited with 61 putouts and 105 assists. Byom led the Norse pitching staff with a record of 6-2 and posted a staff best ERA of 1.84. Briggs batted .269 with 16 RBI and Knippenberg batted .340 with 16 RBI and did not commit an error.
