The Dutch scored its first three shots, while Luther's Marta Springer and Ellie Schmid made their attempts and then Claire Little was stopped on shot number three. Central's Lauren Vahlkamp then missed on the fourth try, that was followed by a make by Halina Pyzdrowski. Entering the final shots for both teams, Central's Erin Manion missed and McKenzie Lundquist secured the win with a make.
Both teams had chances to end this contest during the 110 minutes of action. Schmid hit the crossbar in the 70th minute and then Maggie Anderson hit the cross bar with a shot in the 79th minute. Central also hit the crossbar twice, the first in the 95th minute and the second time in the 102nd minute.
