Luther was defeated by Mount Mercy University (12-3) in the final tune up before Iowa Conference play begins next week.
The Mustangs never trailed in the game and led by as many as 20 with a little over three minutes remaining. Mount Mercy shot 51.6 percent connecting on 33-of-64 attempts that included a 54-8 advantage in the paint.
Luther tied a school record for three-point buckets in a single game with 15. The Norse were 15-of-35 from behind the arch.
Jake Martin and Cody Kliethermes led the attack with 15 points each. Kliethermes tied his career high and knocked down five treys. Nathan Meyer was one point shy of double digits and Christian Wright chipped in eight.
The loss was the third in a row for the Norse (4-7) who will travel to Wartburg College on Wednesday, Jan. 7 for the conference opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
