Tricia Serres was attempting to become a three-time All-American this afternoon at the NCAA III National Cross Championships, but missed that goal by one place. Serres placed 36th from the field of 275 competitors. The top-35 earn All-America honors.
Serres covered the 6,000 meter course located at the Golf Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, with a time of 22:27.8 Summer Spillane of Middlebury finished ahead of Serres with a time of 22:27.3.
Johns Hopkins captured the team title, its third in a row, posting 87 points. MIT was second with 112 and St. Lawrence finished third with 138.
Teams from the Central Region and how they finished included Carleton (14th - 373), St. Thomas (21st - 551), Wartburg (25th - 609) and St. Olaf (27th - 630).
