After the first day of the Iowa Conference Indoor Championships, Luther sits in third place with 39 points. Wartburg is in first place with 92 points, followed by Loras with 57.
Leah Broderick secured the first all-conference honor for the Norse with a second place finish in the Pentathlon. Broderick posted a school record 3,238 points and placed second behind Wartburg's Mia Purnell who claimed the conference title with 3,264 points. This was the second time in as many years Broderick has earned all-conference honors in this event.
Jayne Cole earned her second all-conference honor in the 5,000. Cole, the defending champion in this event, ran an 18:30.81 and placed third.
Tomorrow's action will begin at Noon with the women's high jump and the Mile run.
