No. 9 Luther posted two five inning victories this afternoon over St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. The Norse defeated the Oles 10-0 and 13-0 producing 11 hits in each game.

Leading 2-0 entering the third inning of game one, Miranda McCay and Alise Miller both hit three-run home runs that gave the Norse an eight run advantage. McCay finished with four RBI going 2-for-3. Carli Radil and Kayla Hatting also produced multiple hit efforts.

Becca Girvan faced 17 batters en route to her 11th win of the season against just three losses. Girvan allowed two hits, walked four and struck out six.

In the nightcap, a seven run fifth secured the second five inning victory of the afternoon. McCay once again led the offensive attack, hitting her second three-run home run of the afternoon. McCay finished with four RBI and was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate and scored three times. Radil and Paige Lobdell also had multiple hits going 2-for-3.

Topanga Skiles (5-2) was credited with the win. Skiles pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and striking out four. Annie Versnik pitched the final 1 1/3 and retired all four batters she faced.

Luther improved to 21-6, while St. Olaf fell to 3-17.

The Norse will travel to UW-La Crosse on Tuesday, April 15 for a non-conference double header that will begin at 3:00 p.m. The Norse return to Iowa Conference action on Saturday, April 19 at Wartburg College. This twin bill will begin at 2:00 p.m.
