Student participants come from community colleges, private colleges, and public universities across Iowa. The ISA conference provides a formal yet supportive conference environment for undergraduate students to present their work in sociology and social science-related fields. Brotherhood Inc. in conjunction with the community justice project presents "The Forgotten: A Look at the Lives of Young Black Men" a play that looks at the lives of four young black men as they face trials and tribulations in the inner-city. You will journey through the... struggles, obstacles, hopes and dreams of these young men as they overcome prejudices, racism, and ideologies that they will never become anything. Hear their first hand accounts of oppression, fear, strength, and ultimately triumph.
This play will feature a unique mix of the arts consisting of original music, poetry, and paintings. Following the play will be an interactive discussion with the audience. We hope to raise awareness of the afflictions effecting inner city communities of color and the youth in those communities.
