- Students working on campus a minimum of 20 hours per week
2012 SUMMER HOUSING DATES
Summer housing begins: Sunday, May 20, 2012, at 3:00 p.m.
Summer housing ends: Wednesday, August 18, 2012
Students who plan to move into summer housing on May 20 may remain in their spring residence hall rooms until that time.
APPLICATIONS
Students working with a faculty member on a research project should complete the Summer Research Student Housing Application. All other students should complete the standard Summer Housing Application.
ROOM OPTIONS
Limited housing will be available for summer 2012, due to renovation of Dieseth, so students are encouraged to apply early. Applications will be date stamped in the Residence Life office and rooms will be filled in the order applications are received. Once available rooms are full, students will be added to a housing waiting list. All rooms are double occupancy and air-conditioned. Students should plan to have a roommate; no single rooms will be available.
Students may choose between two housing options:
Miller double room
This option is recommended for students who do not plan to be in campus housing for the whole summer. Students interested in living in Miller Hall may apply with a roommate or as an individual. If you do not have a roommate, we will assign one for you. A minimum stay of 2 weeks is required to apply for a room in Miller.
One-bedroom apartment with kitchen
This option is recommended for students who plan to be in campus housing for the whole summer since the fee is set for the entire summer. Apartments are located at 610 Ridge Road in College Apartments. Students must name a roommate of the same sex on their application; all roommate requests need to be mutual. Residence Life will not assign roommates for apartments and no individual apartment applications will be accepted.
FEES
Miller double room: students will be billed $7.50 per night (billing begins once keys are issued – a room is considered occupied if you OR your possessions are in the room). A minimum stay of 2 weeks is required to apply for a room in Miller; the minimum billing will be 14 nights.
One-bedroom apartment with kitchen: students assigned to a College Apartment will be billed $891.00 for the summer, divided into 6 equal payroll deductions of $148.50. Students living in apartments will be billed for the entire summer regardless of how many nights you or your possessions are in the apartment, no refunds will be issued for early departure. Only the applicants may live in an apartment; students who violate this policy will be asked to leave without a refund. Students may not substitute roommates after May 13.
All students will be notified via email of their summer housing assignment no later than May 14.
