School Matinee Performances

Area schools have priority for school matinees; community members are welcome as space is available. All performances take place in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall. Tickets are $3.50. Reservations are made separately from the Center Stage Series; contact the Luther College Box Office at 563-387-1293 or phillibr@luther.edu.
Big Yellow School Bus Grants
The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs will provide up to $200 for Iowa schools to help with the cost of a field trip for arts-related events. Applications can be submitted starting July 1, 2009 for the 2009–10 school year. Go to http://www.iowaartscouncil.org/funding/big-yellow-school-bus/.

Are You Ready My Sister?

A giant patchwork quilt helps tell the story of Harriet Tubman, great conductor of the Underground Railroad, and the quaker women who helped her bring 300 slaves to freedom. Striking shadow puppetry and painted scenery come to life as the story unfolds. This historical adventure features spirituals of the time, dramatic scenes, and audience participation.

Henry & Mudge

Moving from the city to the country is tough for Henry, but he's got a new friend in Mudge—a huge, happy 180-pound dog! But Mudge is a big responsibility: he needs to be fed, taken for walks, and given lots of playtime. When Henry's cousin Annie comes to visit, Mudge is so charmed that Henry is worried that Mudge loves Annie more than him.
