Summer Events and Conferences

Located in the scenic hills and bluffs of northeast Iowa, Luther College offers a variety of meeting spaces to encourage a restful, productive, and successful event. The campus, which has maintained the vision and design of world-renowned landscape architect Jens Jensen, provides an ideal setting for learning, discussions, goal setting, and reflection.

In addition to meeting spaces, Luther offers residential housing and a wide array of planning services during our conference season. We also provide venues for conferences, banquets, wedding receptions, and more during the school year.

Campus Housing

Nestled against the forested hills on the edge of Luther College is Baker Village. It includes four, Nordic-style townhouses that offer comfortable, single-room accommodations for family reunions, conferences, or wedding parties. Baker Village includes 100 single bedrooms. Each air-conditioned bedroom is equipped with a complete set of linens, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, five wooden hangers, and a clock radio. Complimentary coffee and coffee mugs are available in the kitchen. Each kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator, and microwave oven.

Shirley Baker Commons

Shirley Baker Commons is just steps away from the townhouses. The commons is perfect for casual meetings, training camps, or a hospitality area. Restored prairie grasslands and woodland trails complement the Baker Village location.

Farwell Hall
Farwell Hall is a residence hall located in the center of campus. Each floor is composed of three “clusters," a group of single and double bedrooms arranged around a large living room space. The top floor includes a lounge which offers panoramic views of the Luther campus. Farwell Hall includes 250 beds and is air-conditioned.

Dahl Centennial Union
Located in the heart of the campus, newly remodeled and expanded Dahl Centennial Union has meeting rooms that accommodate groups of 10-300. Our professional staff can accommodate banquets, board retreats, employee training, company gatherings, and more.

Other Campus Locations

Several campus buildings offer a variety of meeting spaces that are ideal for multimedia presentations, conventions, receptions, performances, lectures, and seminars. The Center for Faith and Life, Franklin W. Olin Building, Main Building, and the Center for the Arts provide spaces that can accommodate various group sizes and are all within a leisurely stroll of Dahl Centennial Union.

Activities

Luther College is the perfect place to have fun! Sand volleyball, tubing, swimming, ultimate Frisbee, and going for an ice cream treat at the Whippy Dip are a few things that make our summer experiences so enjoyable. Or you can choose to spend some quality time with our local attractions—Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, Porter House Museum, Seed Savers Heritage Farm, and Willowglen Nursery—all are a sampling of destination locations in and around Decorah.

Camps

Luther College hosts several camps that encourage youth involvement and participation. Sports, music, dance, and science are all represented during the summer.
