The camp offers tremendous instruction from qualified staff for the boys and girls ages 4-7. The purpose of the camp is to introduce mini-campers to soccer by doing it the right way. Fundamental skills associated with the game are taught alongside simple concepts and ideas. Thus, a child’s first steps in the game become a perfect foundation to further development.
Staff
Julie Shockey (Camp Director), Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach
- 2000 Graduate of Luther College.
- Begins 11th year as an assistant coach.
- Four-year letter winner for the Norse.
- Also serves as the Public Information Office assistant.
- For the past seven seasons has been the Head Coach of the Decorah Vikings girls soccer team.
Chris Garcia-Prats, Luther College Head Men’s Soccer Coach
- Sixth year as head coach.
- In 2011, Garcia-Prats led Luther to a 17-3-3 overall record and a NSCAA National Ranking #14 while winning the Iowa Conference Champion (undefeated without conceding a goal) as well as making it to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen
- 2011 Iowa Conference Coach of the Year & NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year
- 2002 graduate of Trinity University
- Prior to Luther, he served as the assistant men's soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at Trinity University. During this stretch Trinity University made six NCAA Tournament appearances and three semifinal appearances, winning the national championship in 2003, and finishing second in 2007
- Entering 4th Year as Head Coach.
- 2005 Graduate of Luther College.
- Four-year letter winner while at Luther who played on two conference championship and two national tournament teams, including an Elite 8 appearance in 2001.
- Takes over Norse program after two years as an assistant women's coach at Macalester College.
- Prior to his duties at Macalester, he was the girls head coach at Simley High School from 2005-08, where his teams were consistently ranked in the top-10 in Class 3A and 4A.
- He is has also been a senior coach for the St. Croix Soccer Club since 2002, the last four as the head girls coach, reaching the State Cup Finals in 2007 and 2009 and the semifinals in 2008 as well as three straight indoor league championships from 2007-09.
- From 2004-05 he was the Decorah High School head boys coach and led the Vikings to a 15-5 record and a fourth place finish at the state tournament.
Christina Soward, Assistant Women's Soccer Coach
- Begins forth year as assistant coach.
- 2009 graduate of Luther College - Athletic Training Major.
- Four-year letter winner for the Norse.
- Played in 42 matches during her career.
- Ranks sixth on Luther's all-time career list with a goals-against-average of 1.44.
Dave Keller, Assistant Men's Soccer Coach
- 2009 graduate of Luther College
- Psychology Major
- 2008 second-team all-Iowa Conference selection at defender.
- Named 2008 Most Valuable Defender and team MVP.
- Started 70 of 73 career matches for the Norse.
Additional camp staff will be composed of college and Olympic Development coaches along with collegiate/professional players. Goalkeeping coaches will also be on site for individual training.

Luther College Sports Facilities
Regents Center indoor facilities include six tennis courts; a six-lane, 200-meter track; six full-sized basketball courts; 25-yard, six-lane swimming pool; locker, training, and equipment rooms. The Legends Fitness for Life Center offers a strength and fitness facility with its own climbing wall. The outdoor facilities include 12 tennis courts, a cross country race course, fitness trails, and an all-weather track, which was installed in the fall of 2009.
