The Norse Mini Camp will be offered for the first time at Luther College. The camp offers tremendous instruction from a qualified staff for the boys and girls ages 4-7. The purpose of the camp is to introduce mini-campers to soccer by doing it the right way. Fundamental skills associated with the game are taught alongside simple concepts and ideas. Thus, a child’s first steps in the game become a perfect foundation to further development.
Mini-Campers will each receive a Norse Soccer Camp T-Shirt and be provided snack throughout the week.

Head Men’s Soccer Coach
Just finished his first season as the Men’s Soccer Coach at Luther College, leading the team to its tenth consecutive IIAC Tournament. Before joining the Luther program, he was an assistant at Trinity University where he helped lead the team to six consecutive NCAA Appearances including a 2003 NCAA National Championship and 2007 NCAA National Runner-Up.
At the youth level, he has coached in the South Texas Olympic Development Program as well as with Classics Elite Soccer Academy, one of the premier club soccer programs in South Texas.
He received a Master’s in the Art of Teaching in Elementary Education from Trinity University and taught 4 th Grade in the Judson Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas.
Kim Fair, Head Women’s Soccer Coach
Kim has been an assistant coach at Virginia Wesleyan and Wilkes University. While at Wilkes, she helped recruit two classes that turned a program around from a team that finished below .500 to a team that won the conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA III National Tournament.
She helped Virginia Wesleyan to one of the most successful seasons ever by posting a record of 18-4-4 and advancing to the semifinals of the NCAA III national tournament.
Julie Shockey, Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach
Julie Shockey is in her eighth season as assistant soccer coach for Luther College. Before coaching. Shockey played four years of varsity soccer for the Norse and has been the Luther College Soccer Camp Coordinator for the past seven years.
She is also in her seventh season coaching the Decorah High School girls soccer team. Before coming to Decorah, Shockey coached youth soccer in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Shockey brings more than 15 years experience coaching youth soccer to the camp.
Additional camp staff will be composed of college and Olympic Development coaches along with collegiate/professional players. Goalkeeping coaches will also be on site for individual training.

Luther College Sports Facilities
Regents Center facilities provide six full-size, indoor basketball courts; 20 regulation baskets; weight training room; 25-yard, six-lane indoor swimming pool; 200-meter track; three racquetball courts; wrestling room; dance studio; six tennis courts in court areas that can also be used for basketball, volleyball, and indoor soccer; and locker, training, and equipment rooms.
The opening of the Legends Fitness for Life Center added a strength and fitness facility with its own climbing wall.
Outdoor facilities include tennis courts, fitness trails, a large field area, an all-weather track, three full-size practice soccer fields, and a 100-by-100 grid area with portable goals. The college's soccer-only stadium features dugouts, elevated seating, scoreboard, perimeter fencing, and lighting for night matches.
