Hate incident update

I want to thank those of you who attended the community gathering on the football field and in the Center for Faith and Life this evening to stand together against racism, anti-Semitism and bigotry. Thank you for your witness and for sharing your voice against hatred in all its forms.

Campus Safety and Security is actively investigating every lead regarding the hate symbols imprinted in the snow on the football field Saturday night.

We strongly encourage you to share any information you have – nothing is too minor to share. If you have any information, please call Campus Safety and Security at (563) 387-2111. You may also report using the bias incident report form on the website.

We will review the notes taken at this evening’s gathering, identify and take steps to address issues raised, and schedule a date to bring the community back together. Please feel free to share with Sally Ming any additional comments, ideas and reflections that you would like included in the notes.

If you need support, people in the following departments are prepared to support you - College Ministries, (563) 387-1040; Counseling Service, (563) 387-1375; Diversity Center, (563) 387-1014; and the Student Life Office, (563) 387-1020.

If you need a safe ride or walk from any point on campus, call Campus Safety and Security (563) 387-2111.

If there is an emergency, please call Campus Safety and Security (563) 387-2111 or 911.
