Research interests include investigating how economic enterprises in nations generate sustainable competitiveness in response to the challenges and opportunities presented in a global economy. Particular attention is directed towards effective methods of identifying factors that drive competitiveness, more accurate ways of measuring competitiveness both at the micro and macro level, and identifying policies that are likely to enhance competitiveness.

Also, studying factors related to the development of strong financial markets in emerging economies, with a focus on measuring the impact of technological innovations and policy reforms in emerging economies. The interplay between human economy and natural ecosystems is a recent addition to research interests. Efforts are directed at identifying green building attributes that have high potential for adoption in developing! economies and the likely implications for industrial activities and policies.
