Charles Lazarus Residency
In October of 2016 we were very pleased to host Charles Lazarus for a two-day studio residency. Charles is a member of the Minnesota Orchestra and a former member of such esteemed groups as the Canadian Brass and the Dallas Brass Quintet. He is widely considered to be one of the most dynamic and creative trumpet artists in the world today. During his time at Luther, Chuck performed with the Luther College Jazz Orchestra, provided a workshop in Entrepreneurship in Music, a master-class for the trumpet studio and performed an incredible solo recital which featured a world premier of Steve Heitzig’s American Nomad Concerto for Trumpet and Piano, as well as two pieces with Dr. Cord. It was truly an inspiring weekend for all!
