The Cathedral Choir is active in campus worship, performs in the annual Christmas at Luther celebration, and sings at several special events and concerts throughout the academic year.
Active as a choral clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor, Sandra Peter recently led All-State choirs in Minnesota, Colorado and North Dakota, honor choirs in New York, Wisconsin and Illinois, and a festival choral/orchestral performance in Carnegie Hall. At Luther, she also directs Pike Kor (100 first-year women) and teaches conducting.
Peter holds degrees from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN), the University of Arizona, and the University of Iowa. Her conducting mentors include Jan Gilbertson, Paul J. Christiansen, William Hatcher and Timothy Stalter.
Luther's music program includes six auditioned choirs. Luther is a selective four-year college located in northeast Iowa. The college has an enrollment of more than 2,500 students and offers a liberal arts education leading to the bachelor of arts degree in 60 majors and pre-professional programs.
