Acclaimed by New York Concert Review as “both a virtuosic and a musicianly performer,” Ms. Kominami gave her New York Solo Debut Recital at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall in 1996, as a result of winning the Artists International Award.

Since then, Ms. Kominami has concertized extensively throughout North America, including performances in New York City, Chicago, Boston, and Toronto. In addition to her solo engagements, Ms. Kominami appears frequently in the Murasaki Duo, a cello/piano ensemble, and has performed often with the Chester String Quartet. She is the recipient of numerous awards including a Canada Council Arts Grant, and First Prize at the 1996 Concerto Soloists’ Competition in Philadelphia. She has also appeared live on Maine Public Radio.

Ms. Kominami holds both BM and MM from the Juilliard School in New York City. Ms. Kominami was previously a piano faculty member at the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University South Bend. She is currently the Principal Keyboardist of the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra, and an adjunct music faculty member at Luther College.
