Dr. Allen Hightower, Professor of Music and Director of Choral Studies at Luther College, is the conductor of the Nordic Choir. He is also Artistic Director for Christmas at Luther and teaches classes in choral methods and conducting.
Dr. Hightower's background includes six years as a high school choral director, ten years as Director of Choral Activities at Sam Houston State University, and a lifetime as a church musician. His choirs have performed before the 2007 National ACDA conference in Miami, the 2010 Southwestern ACDA in Denver, and before the Texas Music Educators Association conventions in 1996, 2003, 2006, and 2010.
Dr. Jennaya Robison, ’96, Assistant Professor of Music, has returned to Luther College to conduct Aurora (90 first-year women) and the Cathedral Choir (90 mixed-voice Sophomore ensemble), as well as teaching voice and choral conducting.
Dr. Robison returns after eight years of directing and singing in the Southwest. She was the Artistic Director of Scottsdale Musical Arts, taught at the University of New Mexico and the University of Arizona and was Director of Music Ministry at the largest Lutheran church in Arizona. Prior to that, she was also a Guest Alumni Lecturer and director of Cantorei Chorale (85-voice upperclass women) at Luther from 2002-2005.
Dr. Robison conducted the 2015 Wisconsin All-State Women's Choir, among many other guest conducting opportunities.
Dr. Andrew Last, ’97, is the conductor of The Collegiate Chorale (100 mixed-voice Juniors and Seniors) and Norsemen (90 first-year men) at Luther College. He also teaches advanced choral conducting, and is the Director of the Dorian Summer Music Camps.
Dr. Last conducted the 2015 Wisconsin All-State Men's Choir, among many other guest conducting opportunities.
