Jordan Buchholtz

    A native of Spring Valley, MN, Jordan Buchholtz is a pianist, collaborator, and teacher. As an active performer in the Kansas City area, she regularly plays in solo piano and chamber music recitals, working with both vocalists and instrumentalists as well as local groups such as the Kansas City Women’s Chorus. She previously was the pianist in UMKC's Wind Symphony, and opera department. Jordan is currently pursuing an Artist's Certificate at UMKC and is studying piano with Karen Kushner. She earned a MM in Piano Performance at UMKC and a BA in Music Performance from Luther College. In addition to her graduate studies, she is part of the music faculty at Johnson County Community College and writes music reviews for KCMetropolis.org.

    Charles Hoeft

      Charles Hoeft is a pianist, teacher, and accompanist residing in the Kansas City area. He has been a piano instructor at Music House School of Music in Lenexa since 2015, where he maintains a busy schedule teaching private piano lessons, group piano classes, and educational community classes. Charles is also a choral accompanist at Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, where he works with a program of five choirs. In addition, he serves as the organist for Salem Lutheran Church in Lenexa, and frequently plays for other churches in Kansas City as a substitute.

      Charles earned his Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, where he studied with Robert Weirich. A winner of the 2015 Concerto/Aria Competition at UMKC, he performed the first movement of George Gershwin’s Concerto in F with the UMKC Conservatory Orchestra. During his graduate studies, he also served the UMKC conservatory as a graduate assistant in opera accompanying, and played for their productions and performances of Così fan tutte, Die Zauberflöte, Little Women, and Turn of the Screw. Prior to moving to Kansas City, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music performance and English literature from Luther College, where he was selected as winner of the Distinction in Accompanying Competition in 2013. This past summer of 2017, Charles returned to Luther College to teach the keyboard workshop and accompany for the chamber choir at the Dorian Summer Music Camp.
