The Dorian Invitational Choral Festival is held in April of each year to provide top-quality performing and listening experiences for entire high school choirs.
Four choirs from the upper Midwest are invited by our choral faculty to attend the festival for an entire weekday. The festival is held off-campus in a different region every year. In 2018, the event is being held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Des Moines, IA on April 10th.
During the festival day, the combined voices create a large festival choir which works with Luther choral directors on two select pieces. The four choirs will also individually work with choral faculty on pieces that they have brought prepared for the day.
The festival concludes with a concert that will feature each individual choir, the festival massed choir, and Luther College's very own Nordic Choir. The concert is a ticketed event.
