The Luther College Chamber Orchestra will perform in concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus. Chamber Orchestra will perform Symphony No. 3 "The Camp Meeting" by Charles Ives, awarded the Pulitzer Prize for music.

Luther College Symphony Orchestra to perform concert Nov. 16

The Luther College Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Daniel Baldwin, will present their fall concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall on the Luther College campus. After the intermission, the concert will feature a performance by internationally accomplished soloist and chamber musician Tarn Travers, who will collaborate with the orchestra on Jean Sibelius's "Concerto for Violin and Orchestra."

The Luther College Concert Band will perform a Veteran's Day concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, in the Main Hall of the Center of Faith and Life on the Luther campus. The Concert Band will perform "Star Spangled Banner" arranged by John Williams, "National Emblem" by Edwin Eugene Bagley, "Stars and Stripes" by John Philip Sousa and other band works.

The Luther College Varsity Band and Wind and Percussion Ensemble will present a fall concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus. Varsity Band will perform "Suite on Celtic Folk Songs" by Tomohiro Tatebe, "Appalachian Overture" by James Barnes, "Prelude and Celebration" by James Curnow and "Beguine for Band" by Glenn Osser.

Luther College to host the 57th annual Dorian Keyboard Festival

Luther College will host the 57th annual Dorian Keyboard Festival Nov. 7-9. Middle and high school piano and organ students, from approximately 30 private studios, come to campus for a chance to experience Luther, work one-on-one with music faculty and perform in public recitals.

Luther College Art Song Jamboree Nov. 10

The first Song Jam of the 2014-15 Luther College Art Song Jamboree series will be held at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, in the Recital Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus. The Art Song Jamboree series is dedicated to the exploration of art song written by women composers of all eras and nationalities, and in all musical styles and languages.

Brad Schultz, Luther College visiting instructor in music, will perform a Halloween-themed organ recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus. The performance will include a wide range of novel and scary pieces for the organ including works by Olivier Messiaen, Modest Mussorgsky, Naji Hakim and Bach.
