Art Song Jamboree

The second Song Jam of the 2013-14 Luther College Art Song Jamboree series will be held at 5:15 p.m. Monday, March 9, in the Recital Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus.

The Song Jam is open to the public with no charge for admission.

Jessica Paul, Luther professor of music, is the creator and lead advocate of the Art Song series as part of her ongoing research and mission to find art songs written by women composers of all eras, musical styles, languages and nationalities.

The program includes repertoire by composers Pauline Viardot, Mathilde Kralik, Judith Cloud, Margaret Garwood, Mel Bonis, Betty Jackson King and Margaret Bonds.

Featured performers at this Song Jam will include Luther faculty members Andrew Last (bass baritone) and Valeria Kishkunas (soprano) and Luther stundents Emily Clay (soprano), Bryan Waznick (tenor), Micki Kruse (soprano), Wesley Frye (tenor), Patrick Pauloski (baritone), Jimmy Deignan (baritone), Mary Lieberman (soprano), Jennifer LeDoux (soprano), Sam Raiche (tenor), Allison Vollinger (soprano), and Jeffrey Knutson (baritone). Jessica Paul serves as the performance pianist and vocal coach with preperation assistance from Caleb Sander.
