Faculty Artist Series: Miko Kominami, Piano

Miko Kominami, Luther College adjunct faculty in music, will perform a piano recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther College campus.

The recital is open to the public with no charge for admission.

The recital, titled, "Pictures and Music," will feature works by composers Jerry Owen and Modest Mussorgsky.

Owen's "Grant Wood Gallery" and Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" are based on paintings which will be projected next to the stage for the audience to view while listening to the music. The "Grant Wood Gallery" is a collection of six pieces based on six of Wood's paintings. "Pictures at an Exhibition" is based on paintings by Viktor Hartmann.
