Jazz artist and trumpeter Jon Ailabouni and the Luther College Jazz Sextet team up with Decorah author Robert Wolf to present an evening of new writings and music. Focused on the tumultuous period between Kennedy's assassination and Nixon's resignation, this concert weaves together the story of Wolf's early life - hopping trains, working on a ranch, and teaching GED classes in a state penitentiary - with the story of America in flux. Set to the sound of newly composed music by Ailabouni for the Luther College Jazz Sextet, we invite you to join us as we dive into the search for America: her iconic figures and vanishing regional folkways.
