In recognition of Jazz Appreciation Month, the Luther College Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Juan Tony Guzmán, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on Luther College campus.
The performance, part of the Jazz Orchestra's spring tour of the Upper Midwest, is open to the public. A freewill donation will be taken. Those who are unable to attend the concert can watch and listen to the live video streaming.
The 2015 Jazz Orchestra tour program includes standards by Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Horace Silver, Pat Metheny, Thelonius Monk, Astor Piazzolla and George Gershwin. A variety of student soloists and Jon Ailabouni, Luther's jazz trumpet instructor, will be featured throughout the program.
