Autumn Ridge Church |
| Position Nominated For: |
Secretary |
| List on and off campus activities and leadership experiences that are relevant to desired position (i.e. involvement in College Ministries at Luther, home congregation, camps, and other ministries): |
I worked as public relations for my school theater department acting as the contact between businesses and the school in person, through phone interviews and in writing. I've been a leader in several youth groups both at my own church and others in town. I know that these experiences aren't necessarily relevant to the secretary position, but put together they show both experience communicating for a group and as a leader in a church which is also part of this position. |
| What gifts do you bring to the Luther Congregation and to the council? |
I am an organized and timely worker, and do my best in any task I take on. |
| As a spiritual leader, how do you nurture your spiritual life, individually and within the community? |
I try to spend time everyday either reading the Bible or prayer, sometimes easier said than done when school work piles up, but important anyway. I enjoy worshiping with others and try to remember that even when I'm "leading" worship, I am still worshiping as well. |
| Please include a brief statement describing your goals, challenges and vision for the Luther Congregation’s ministry. : |
I would simply like to see the congregation become more visible on campus. We have service on Sunday, Eucharist on Wednesdays and Bible studies and other things for the congregation, but what about the rest of the student body? I don't know how, but it would be nice to do things that are clearly open to everyone and not confined to the spaces in the CFL, maybe an activity someday on the library lawn or something. |
