Student Groups and Activities

The Student Congregation
Luther is a student congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Students of all denominations are encouraged to participate in the life of the church through the many programs and ministry opportunities. They may also serve on our Congregation Council.
Small Group Ministries
Students have multiple opportunities to participate in small group ministries at Luther. We have groups dedicated to:
- Bible Study
- Drama
- Music
- Prayer
- Youth Ministry/ Church Lock-ins
- Vocational Discernment for ministry and other fields
- Interfaith dialogue
Do You Have a Heart for Justice?
College Ministries supports the work for student groups dedicated to peace and justice work in a number of areas:
- Poverty (ONE Campaign)
- Housing (Habitat for Humanity)
- Peace (Amnesty International)
- Ecology and Sustainability
- Health/ Disease Prevention
- Economic Development
- LGBTQ (PRIDE)
Service and Mission
College Ministries believes that we are all called to serve our neighbor. To facilitate this call we provide a number of service opportunities on and off campus:
- Alternative Spring Break to the Gulf Coast (Habitat for Humanity) and an international destination, this year Nicaragua.
- Fall and Spring Community Service projects to raise funds for local and international charities.
- Luther's big brothers/ big sisters program
Not Just Lutheran.
College Ministries is open to all students regardless of faith tradition, but it also supports student groups such as:
- Catholic Student Community
- Lutheran College Missouri Synod
- Muslim Student Association
- Weekly Buddhist Meditation
- Interfaith Student Association
