Lives that Matter: Vocation, Self and Service: January 2016 (Decorah/Arizona), is a J Term course to help sophomores explore vocation and service. The course begins on campus and finishes at the ELCA “Spirit in the Desert” retreat center in Carefree, Arizona (close to Phoenix). Students will join with retired alumni and residents in Carefree for service projects and group reflection and discussion in AZ. Registration for the course is open. Credit: 4 hrs. Student Volunteers needed for Fall Fling, Saturday, October 24. Help local residents with Fall chores like raking, pruning, washing windows and cleaning. Sign up as part of a group or as an individual. Sign-up form available at www.luther.edu/ministries and follow the Fall Fling 2015 link. Donations received will be sent to the Middle East and Europe Refugee Crisis fund through the ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response. 100 % of donations will be used to assist those directly impacted.
All Saints Day Chapel will be held on Monday, November 2 at 10:30 a.m. in the CFL Main Hall.We will remember children born or adopted in the Luther community in the last year as well as the names of those loved ones who have passed away that you would like the community to remember in prayer. Employees, their spouses and children, and students' parents and siblings will be listed in the bulletin. There will be an opportunity for all participants to light candles and name other saints in your life whom you remember.
