The Division I National Tournament takes place at Reddan Soccer Park (in Verona, just west of Madison). Come out to join eighty to one hundred family, alumni, and friends. Luther is famous for having the best, biggest, and loudest sideline. We travelled around seventy fans to Boulder, CO the last two years. Come out for some competition, for some fun, and to fuel our run.
Luther's Ultimate Flying Disc Association (LUFDA) includes our nationally-competitive A-team, and Pound, our less intense, yet still ambitious B-team. Together, we are a group of athletes who practice and train in order to compete at the highest level in this sport we love.
Ultimate is a team sport played with a disc. The sport has been around since the 70's, but is currently one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
Each fall and spring, both teams attend tournaments in the Midwest, and across the country, in order to prepare ourselves for the USA Ultimate College Series which takes place in April and May. In 2009, LUFDA made it all the way to the National Championships in Columbus, Ohio, where we finished in 11th place. We have continued our success by placing 13th and 5th in the National Tournament in 2011 and 2012.
Looking to improve upon the groundwork laid in the past, this year's LUFDA squad is again looking to make the next step toward excellence. We will be hitting the gym, the road, and the dirt harder than ever before, and will accept nothing less than our best on every point we play. Look for us to be more battle-tested and hungrier than ever before going into the postseason.
To our alumni, friends, family, the Luther administration, and the Luther community, thank you for your continued support—we hope to see you all on the sidelines at some point this season.
