JOSEPH HOSLETT KVAASE was born August 20, 1932, to Gustav and Marie (Hoslett) Kvaase in St. Paul, Minnesota. Joe graduated from Murray High School and then attended Luther College and graduated in 1954 with a Speech Major. After college he served in the U.S. Medical Corps until 1956. He received his post-graduate degree at the University of Minnesota School of Journalism. During Joe's life he first did fundraising, and then became the Public Relations Director at Courage Center. Joe worked from 1960-1979 for the Minneapolis Star and Tribune Company in the Promotion and Public Service Department, holding various positions over the years. He then worked from 1980-2002 in Financial Sales and earned Certified Financial Planner designation in 1986. He worked for a number of those years at The Insurance Mart. After retirement, Joe wrote a manuscript, "It's ALL God's Stuff," (basics of personal financial products and techniques, with basis of Biblical teaching). His hope was that it will be published one day. Over the years Joe earned his private pilot's license, enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, golfing, photography, music, time spent with friends and family, and involvement with his church life. Joe married Gail (Bieber) in 1959 and they were blessed with a daughter, Donna, in 1960. Joe married Joyce (Anderson) in 1996. She brought three grown children, their spouses and six grandchildren into his life. He was a great "sport" taking them all on at once, which was sometimes overwhelming! Joe is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Joyce; daughter, Donna Kvaase (Tom Jones); stepchildren, Kristen (Mark) Williamson, David (Therese) Anderson; and Judith (Buck) Brodin. He was also a wonderful grandfather to Kevin (Jeanne) and Greg (Renae) Williamson, Caleb and Grace Anderson, Rachel and Eric Brodin, and a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Williamson. He is also survived by sisters, AGNES (KVAASE) WOOLERY ’43, and MARY (KVAASE) STALLAND ’44, and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Daniel.
